Riverina ThinkTank Workshop

The final instalment of three ThinkTank critical thinking workshops, supported by Mary MacKillop Today, took place on October 25 at Albury Public School. This workshop, designed for gifted and enthusiastic students in Years 5 and 6, brought together over 50 young minds from the Riverina region for a day of intellectual engagement and collaborative learning. The complete school list in attendance was:

  • Albury Public School

  • Lake Cargelligo Central School

  • West Wyalong Public School

  • Deniliquin North Public School

  • Finley Public School

  • Turvey Park Public School

  • Gundagai Public School

  • Holbrook Public School

The workshop was free for all nominated students, thanks to generous grant funding from Mary MacKillop Today. The initiative aims to support high-achieving students in regional communities by providing a stimulating environment where they can explore complex ideas and develop their critical thinking skills.

Led by expert trainers, the Riverina workshop focused on thought-provoking discussions surrounding human behaviour and real-world challenges. The interactive sessions encouraged students to analyse information critically, approach problems with empathy, and engage deeply with new concepts. Through hands-on activities and guided discourse, participants experienced how extension learning can be both rigorous and enjoyable.

This final workshop marked the conclusion of a successful series held in regional hubs, each fostering a spirit of curiosity and intellectual growth among young learners. By hosting these workshops at central locations like Albury Public School, the ThinkTank program has ensured accessibility and inclusivity for students across regional communities.

The Consensus Education Foundation extends its gratitude to Mary MacKillop Today for its invaluable support in making these workshops possible.
